It is something that has already been chosen for him/her. External diversity is used to describe the things that are related to that person but are not the characteristic that a person was born with. A simple way of describing is that it is the things that a person puts on to show that they are who they say they are to the world. It is the stuff that we wear, our makeup, our hair, and our style. It is who we act, what we do, and what we say.

Organizational diversity, also called functional diversity relates to the differences between people that are assigned to them by an organization—essentially, these are the characteristics within a workplace that distinguish one employee from another. The most common way of thinking of the different employees is as: a) a leader, b) a follower, and c) a loner. A manager would be a leader; a salesperson would be a follower; and a developer would be a loner. These three descriptions of employee differences are not mutually exclusive.

There are people who lead, follow, and are at times loners. The main reason each of the three are often given for organizational diversity is that each worker brings something that the organization can use and benefit from.

Worldview diversity have many factors that can come together. Whether it would be internal, external, and organizational at the end of the day, everyone has a worldview that they align with.
